About Me
My name is Makayla and I'm a Mental Performance Consultant. I played volleyball for six years, and two things I'll always remember are the love for my teammates and the deep satisfaction of achieving a skill I'd been working towards. My experiences as an athlete inspired me to pursue a career in sport psychology and now my passion is helping others feel the same love and accomplishment I felt during my experience.
I completed my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University and Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Springfield College. I have experience working with baseball, soccer, swim & dive, and field hockey athletes of all ages and experience levels. I'm excited to work with all performers ready to take the next step.
A core principle of my consulting philosophy is that your sport experience is just, if not more, important than the performance outcome. Feeling miserable as your batting average goes up isn't conducive to career longevity or mental well-being. The goal is to get the results you want while keeping the experience enjoyable.
Performance is like a treadmill: if you're not moving forward, you're going backwards. Working with me is working with a coach who respects your story, supports your goals, and celebrates your wins, big or small. Lets take the first step together.
